R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Phillip J. Curry of McMillen High School has been
nominated for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary
Teacher of the Year award; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Curry has enjoyed a rewarding tenure with Plano
ISD that has spanned 15 years; he has served various district
campuses, and he currently teaches American Sign Language at
McMillen High; a native of California, he has lived in Texas since
2008; and
WHEREAS, Phillip Curry exemplifies the passion,
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Phillip J. Curry on his nomination
for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary Teacher of
the Year award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success with his important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Curry as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
