77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, The Galveston College softball team furthered its
99 record of success by capturing a share of the 2025 National Junior
1010 College Athletic Association Division I Region 14 South Conference
1111 championship; and
1212 WHEREAS, The cochampion Whitecaps secured their third
1313 consecutive regular-season title in dominant fashion, dropping
1414 only five games against their conference rivals and closing out the
1515 regular season with an impressive ledger of 30 wins and 12 losses;
1616 with their performance, the Galveston players earned the No. 2 seed
1717 for the regional tournament in Bossier City, Louisiana; there, the
1818 defending tournament champion Whitecaps will launch their bid for a
1919 return trip to the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series; the squad
2020 clinched a fifth-place finish in the 2024 national competition; and
2121 WHEREAS, The Whitecaps have received essential contributions
2222 throughout the year from each member of the roster: Brynn Smith,
2323 Halle Cordova, Sienna Voogt, Gabby Barnes, Aubrey Gonzales, Brianna
2424 Parent, Amiya Villanueva, Alayna Davis, Jordyn Comer, Maddie Moore,
2525 Brynn Glidewell, Natalie Noriega, Raegan Johnson, Breigh Houser,
2626 Paeden Vincik, Bailey Kee, Ella Lowe, Haylie Alkire, Carmen DeLeon,
2727 Cady Bowyer, Leila Ludwig, Jenna Johnston, Abigail Moreno, Sarenity
2828 Padilla, and Riley Riordan; the team is ably guided by head coach
2929 Kelly Raines and assistant coach Rome McNary; and
3030 WHEREAS, Winning a conference championship represents the
3131 culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
3232 commitment to excellence, and the Galveston College Whitecaps may
3333 indeed reflect with pride on this outstanding achievement; now,
3434 therefore, be it
3535 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3636 Legislature hereby congratulate the Galveston College softball
3737 team on claiming the 2025 NJCAA Division I Region 14 South
3838 Conference cochampionship and extend to the players, coaches, and
3939 staff sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4242 House of Representatives.
