 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Galveston College softball team furthered its
 record of success by capturing a share of the 2025 National Junior
 College Athletic Association Division I Region 14 South Conference
 championship; and
 WHEREAS, The cochampion Whitecaps secured their third
 consecutive regular-season title in dominant fashion, dropping
 only five games against their conference rivals and closing out the
 regular season with an impressive ledger of 30 wins and 12 losses;
 with their performance, the Galveston players earned the No. 2 seed
 for the regional tournament in Bossier City, Louisiana; there, the
 defending tournament champion Whitecaps will launch their bid for a
 return trip to the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series; the squad
 clinched a fifth-place finish in the 2024 national competition; and
 WHEREAS, The Whitecaps have received essential contributions
 throughout the year from each member of the roster: Brynn Smith,
 Halle Cordova, Sienna Voogt, Gabby Barnes, Aubrey Gonzales, Brianna
 Parent, Amiya Villanueva, Alayna Davis, Jordyn Comer, Maddie Moore,
 Brynn Glidewell, Natalie Noriega, Raegan Johnson, Breigh Houser,
 Paeden Vincik, Bailey Kee, Ella Lowe, Haylie Alkire, Carmen DeLeon,
 Cady Bowyer, Leila Ludwig, Jenna Johnston, Abigail Moreno, Sarenity
 Padilla, and Riley Riordan; the team is ably guided by head coach
 Kelly Raines and assistant coach Rome McNary; and
 WHEREAS, Winning a conference championship represents the
 culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
 commitment to excellence, and the Galveston College Whitecaps may
 indeed reflect with pride on this outstanding achievement; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Galveston College softball
 team on claiming the 2025 NJCAA Division I Region 14 South
 Conference cochampionship and extend to the players, coaches, and
 staff sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
