77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, Cooper Hilton is concluding his tenure as the
99 2024-2025 president of the Texas Elementary Principals and
1010 Supervisors Association in June 2025, and this occasion provides a
1111 fitting opportunity to recognize his outstanding record of service;
1212 and
1313 WHEREAS, Over the course of his yearlong term, Mr. Hilton has
1414 ably led TEPSA in its mission to provide leadership training,
1515 networking opportunities, information, and support for its more
1616 than 6,000 members, who in turn oversee the education of
1717 approximately 3 million young Texans across the state; a strong
1818 advocate for public education, he has further contributed to the
1919 organization as vice president, as a conference presenter, and as a
2020 member of its State Executive and State Advocacy Committees; and
2121 WHEREAS, Mr. Hilton currently serves Wilson Elementary
2222 School in the Coppell Independent School District as principal, a
2323 title he has held since May 2017, and over the course of his tenure,
2424 he has improved campus culture and teacher retention, redesigned
2525 the campus RtI process and intervention structures, initiated a
2626 dual language program evaluation, and maintained the school's
2727 status as a Great Expectations "Model School"; he first began
2828 working with the Coppell Independent School District in 2010 at
2929 Austin Elementary School, where he served as assistant principal
3030 and principal; and
3131 WHEREAS, Mr. Hilton holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish
3232 literature from the University of Dallas and a master's degree in
3333 educational leadership and policy from The University of Texas at
3434 Arlington; prior to joining Coppell ISD, he served as a bilingual
3535 teacher and interventionist in Irving ISD from 2005 to 2010; in all
3636 his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Lauren,
3737 and their four children; and
3838 WHEREAS, Through his leadership, professionalism, and
3939 commitment to excellence, Cooper Hilton has been a strong and
4040 effective advocate for educational leaders in the Lone Star State,
4141 and he may indeed reflect with pride on his many accomplishments;
4242 now, therefore, be it
4343 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
4444 Legislature hereby commend Cooper Hilton for his service as the
4545 2024-2025 president of the Texas Elementary Principals and
4646 Supervisors Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for
4747 continued success with his important work; and, be it further
4848 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4949 prepared for Mr. Hilton as an expression of high regard by the Texas
5050 House of Representatives.
