8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Cooper Hilton is concluding his tenure as the |
---|
9 | 9 | | 2024-2025 president of the Texas Elementary Principals and |
---|
10 | 10 | | Supervisors Association in June 2025, and this occasion provides a |
---|
11 | 11 | | fitting opportunity to recognize his outstanding record of service; |
---|
12 | 12 | | and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his yearlong term, Mr. Hilton has |
---|
14 | 14 | | ably led TEPSA in its mission to provide leadership training, |
---|
15 | 15 | | networking opportunities, information, and support for its more |
---|
16 | 16 | | than 6,000 members, who in turn oversee the education of |
---|
17 | 17 | | approximately 3 million young Texans across the state; a strong |
---|
18 | 18 | | advocate for public education, he has further contributed to the |
---|
19 | 19 | | organization as vice president, as a conference presenter, and as a |
---|
20 | 20 | | member of its State Executive and State Advocacy Committees; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hilton currently serves Wilson Elementary |
---|
22 | 22 | | School in the Coppell Independent School District as principal, a |
---|
23 | 23 | | title he has held since May 2017, and over the course of his tenure, |
---|
24 | 24 | | he has improved campus culture and teacher retention, redesigned |
---|
25 | 25 | | the campus RtI process and intervention structures, initiated a |
---|
26 | 26 | | dual language program evaluation, and maintained the school's |
---|
27 | 27 | | status as a Great Expectations "Model School"; he first began |
---|
28 | 28 | | working with the Coppell Independent School District in 2010 at |
---|
29 | 29 | | Austin Elementary School, where he served as assistant principal |
---|
30 | 30 | | and principal; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hilton holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish |
---|
32 | 32 | | literature from the University of Dallas and a master's degree in |
---|
33 | 33 | | educational leadership and policy from The University of Texas at |
---|
34 | 34 | | Arlington; prior to joining Coppell ISD, he served as a bilingual |
---|
35 | 35 | | teacher and interventionist in Irving ISD from 2005 to 2010; in all |
---|
36 | 36 | | his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Lauren, |
---|
37 | 37 | | and their four children; and |
---|
38 | 38 | | WHEREAS, Through his leadership, professionalism, and |
---|
39 | 39 | | commitment to excellence, Cooper Hilton has been a strong and |
---|
40 | 40 | | effective advocate for educational leaders in the Lone Star State, |
---|
41 | 41 | | and he may indeed reflect with pride on his many accomplishments; |
---|
42 | 42 | | now, therefore, be it |

43 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
---|
44 | 44 | | Legislature hereby commend Cooper Hilton for his service as the |
---|
45 | 45 | | 2024-2025 president of the Texas Elementary Principals and |
---|
46 | 46 | | Supervisors Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
---|
47 | 47 | | continued success with his important work; and, be it further |
---|
48 | 48 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

49 | 49 | | prepared for Mr. Hilton as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
---|
50 | 50 | | House of Representatives. |
