| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Chambers County community lost an esteemed |

| 8 | 9 | | citizen with the tragic passing of Adrian Brian Combs, and he is |

| 9 | 10 | | being memorialized with the dedication of a portion of FM 1405 as |

| 10 | 11 | | the Adrian Combs Memorial Highway; and |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Adrian Combs was born on March 24, 1981, to Patricia |

| 12 | 13 | | Combs and Billy Combs, a former Beach City mayor and Chambers County |

| 13 | 14 | | commissioner; he grew up with the companionship of a younger |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | brother, Cody; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Combs enjoyed a rewarding career in commercial |

| 16 | 17 | | real estate, working alongside his father at Combs Commercial, LLC; |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | in all his endeavors, he benefited from the love and support of his |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | soulmate, Shayla; he was an avid cyclist and triathlete, and he |

| 19 | 20 | | liked to travel; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, On April 14, 2024, Mr. Combs was cycling on FM 1405 |

| 21 | 22 | | when he was struck and killed by a truck driver; he was 43 years old |

| 22 | 23 | | at the time of his death; the designation of a portion of that |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | highway in his honor will help to promote public awareness of the |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | presence of cyclists and affirm the importance of adhering to |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Adrian Combs |

| 27 | 28 | | will remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth, |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | generosity, and delightful sense of humor, and he will forever hold |

| 29 | 30 | | a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the naming of the Adrian Combs |

| 32 | 33 | | Memorial Highway in Chambers County and pay tribute to the life and |
