H.R. No. 370
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Houston Black American Democrats are
gathering in Austin on March 19, 2025, for Houston Black American
Democrats Day at the State Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to increasing civic engagement among
African Americans and myriad other underserved groups, the Houston
Black American Democrats facilitates voter education and
participation, volunteer efforts, and leadership development; and
WHEREAS, Active at the local, state, and national levels of
government, H-BAD employs a year-round program to maximize its
effectiveness; in addition, the organization champions candidates
and political initiatives that support the ideals and principles of
the Democratic Party, such as justice and social welfare; and
WHEREAS, The Houston Black American Democrats works
tirelessly to empower citizens from historically marginalized
communities to participate in the democratic process, and the group
is indeed worthy of recognition for its significant contributions;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize March 19, 2025, as Houston Black
American Democrats Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm
welcome to the visiting delegation.
