 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Brandi Clausen of the Dalhart Volunteer Fire
 Department was named the 2024 Firefighter of the Year by the
 Panhandle Firemen's & Fire Marshals' Association; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Clausen joined the Dalhart VFD on January 1,
 2019, and over the years, she has played an instrumental role in
 responding to emergency calls; she holds Firefighter I
 certification from the State Firefighters' & Fire Marshals'
 Association of Texas, and she is currently working towards her
 Firefighter II certification; in January 2024, she attended the
 Second in Command symposium hosted by the Texas Fire Chiefs
 Association in College Station, and she later instructed a class to
 share her new skills with colleagues; among her many achievements,
 she became the first woman to receive the Firefighter of the Year
 award from the Dalhart VFD in 2023; and
 WHEREAS, A resident of Dalhart since 2016, Ms. Clausen has
 enjoyed a rewarding career with the Texas Department of Criminal
 Justice, where she serves as a member of the search and rescue team;
 and
 WHEREAS, Brandi Clausen has demonstrated an exceptional
 commitment to protecting the lives and property of her fellow
 citizens, and she is indeed deserving of this most recent honor;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Brandi Clausen on being named the
 2024 Firefighter of the Year by the Panhandle Firemen's & Fire
 Marshals' Association and extend to her sincere best wishes for
 continued success in her important work; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Clausen as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
