| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Doug Loomis is retiring as superintendent of the |

| 8 | 9 | | Amarillo Independent School District on June 30, 2025, drawing to a |

| 9 | 10 | | close an exemplary tenure with the district that has spanned nearly |

| 10 | 11 | | four decades; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Loomis is a graduate of Oklahoma Panhandle State |

| 12 | 13 | | University, and he holds a master's degree in education from |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | West Texas A&M University; he has spent the entirety of his career |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | with Amarillo ISD, where he has worked at every school level and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | within every district cluster; he held the positions of physical |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | education teacher at Wolflin Elementary, science and health teacher |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | at Bonham Middle and Fannin Middle, assistant principal at Houston |

| 18 | 19 | | Middle, associate principal at Palo Duro High, principal at Mann |

| 19 | 20 | | Middle and Amarillo High, and executive director of student |

| 20 | 21 | | performance for the Caprock High cluster, and he served Amarillo |

| 21 | 22 | | ISD as chief human resource officer and as interim superintendent |

| 22 | 23 | | before taking over as superintendent of schools in 2019; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Retirement will afford Mr. Loomis more time to spend |

| 24 | 25 | | with his family, which includes his wife of more than 30 years, |

| 25 | 26 | | Gisele, and their children, Jordan and Braydan; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through his leadership, professionalism, and |

| 27 | 28 | | commitment to excellence, Doug Loomis has greatly benefited the |

| 28 | 29 | | students of Amarillo ISD and earned the respect and admiration of |

| 29 | 30 | | his colleagues, and his contributions to the district will be |

| 30 | 31 | | remembered and appreciated for many years to come; now, therefore, |
