7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Theresa Boland retired from the Office of the Texas |

8 | 9 | | Governor on December 31, 2024, drawing to a close nearly 35 years of |

9 | 10 | | dedicated service to the state; and |

10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A native of Poughkeepsie, New York, Terrie Boland |
---|
11 | 12 | | graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing and finance from |
---|
12 | 13 | | the University of South Carolina in 1987; she began her career in |
---|
13 | 14 | | government as a copy clerk for the Texas Secretary of State, and she |
---|
14 | 15 | | went on to serve as an accountant and purchaser for the Texas Ethics |
---|
15 | 16 | | Commission and as an accountant for the Texas Bond Review Board; and |
---|
16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Boland continued her accounting work with the |
---|
17 | 18 | | Texas Department of Economic Development, where she rose to the |
---|
18 | 19 | | position of budget director; in September 2003, the department was |
---|
19 | 20 | | transferred to the Office of the Texas Governor, and she worked as a |
---|
20 | 21 | | budget analyst in the office's Texas Economic Development & Tourism |
---|
21 | 22 | | division; in 2016, she was elevated to the roles of chief financial |
---|
22 | 23 | | officer and director of financial services for the office, which |
---|
23 | 24 | | she held until her retirement; and |
---|
24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Over the past three and a half decades, Terrie |
---|
25 | 26 | | Boland has given unstintingly of her talents and expertise in |
---|
26 | 27 | | behalf of the people of Texas, and she may indeed reflect with pride |
---|
27 | 28 | | on her myriad contributions as she embarks on a well-deserved |
---|
28 | 29 | | retirement; now, therefore, be it |

29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Theresa Boland on her retirement |

31 | 32 | | from the Office of the Texas Governor and extend to her sincere best |

32 | 33 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
