| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Stafford of Tascosa High School in Amarillo |

| 8 | 9 | | has been honored as the 2024 Texas High School Wrestling Coach of |

| 9 | 10 | | the Year by the National Federation of State High School |

| 10 | 11 | | Associations; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Coach Stafford has enjoyed tremendous success |

| 12 | 13 | | during his 17 years at the helm of the Tascosa wrestling program; |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | under his leadership, the boys' team collected a bronze medal and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | two individual gold medals at the 2025 state meet and a 2023 state |

| 15 | 16 | | team championship, and the girls' squad claimed a state crown in |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | 2014; known for his coaching approach that focuses on discipline |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | and technical skill, he has notched roughly a dozen top-three state |

| 18 | 19 | | finishes while mentoring multiple individual state champions and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | All-State wrestlers; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure at Tascosa, Coach Stafford was |

| 21 | 22 | | an assistant coach for the Oklahoma Norman North High School |

| 22 | 23 | | wrestling team for two years; from 1993 to 2000, he played a key |

| 23 | 24 | | role in recruiting and developing collegiate wrestlers as head |

| 24 | 25 | | assistant coach at the University of Wyoming; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, With his outstanding ability to teach and motivate, |

| 26 | 27 | | Joseph Stafford has built a tradition of excellence with the |

| 27 | 28 | | Tascosa High School wrestling team, and he is indeed deserving of |

| 28 | 29 | | this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
