 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Joseph Stafford of Tascosa High School in Amarillo
 has been honored as the 2024 Texas High School Wrestling Coach of
 the Year by the National Federation of State High School
 Associations; and
 WHEREAS, Coach Stafford has enjoyed tremendous success
 during his 17 years at the helm of the Tascosa wrestling program;
 under his leadership, the boys' team collected a bronze medal and
 two individual gold medals at the 2025 state meet and a 2023 state
 team championship, and the girls' squad claimed a state crown in
 2014; known for his coaching approach that focuses on discipline
 and technical skill, he has notched roughly a dozen top-three state
 finishes while mentoring multiple individual state champions and
 All-State wrestlers; and
 WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure at Tascosa, Coach Stafford was
 an assistant coach for the Oklahoma Norman North High School
 wrestling team for two years; from 1993 to 2000, he played a key
 role in recruiting and developing collegiate wrestlers as head
 assistant coach at the University of Wyoming; and
 WHEREAS, With his outstanding ability to teach and motivate,
 Joseph Stafford has built a tradition of excellence with the
 Tascosa High School wrestling team, and he is indeed deserving of
 this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Joseph Stafford on his selection as
 the 2024 NFHS Texas High School Wrestling Coach of the Year and
 extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Coach Stafford as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
