| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Music Project, a charitable organization |

| 9 | 9 | | dedicated to preserving the state's musical heritage and supporting |

| 10 | 10 | | and developing the next wave of musical talent, is making a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | difference in the lives of disadvantaged youth through its Music |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Heals Program; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the past two decades, the Texas Music Project |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | has promoted music as a positive creative outlet for young people; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | recognizing a need for enhanced support of music education, the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | organization has raised funds, donated instruments, and offered |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | instruction, mentorship, interactive seminars, and live |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | performances to underserved and at-risk students; through these |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | efforts, the organization has invested in the future of Texas music |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and inspired many gifted young musicians to reach their full |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | artistic potential; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Alongside its educational efforts, TMP's Music |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Heals Program has brought hope, joy, and healing to children |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | confronting medical challenges by providing funding and resources |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | for hospitals' music therapy programs; among the most notable |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | projects under the Music Heals Program, the Song of Hope initiative |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | empowers young patients to create their own personal anthems of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | hope for their healing journey, and it has garnered media attention |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and helped to showcase the transformative power of music therapy; |
|---|

| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Through its Music Heals Program, the Texas Music |

| 32 | 32 | | Project has given countless young Texans the opportunity to |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | experience the wide spectrum of physical, mental, and emotional |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | benefits of music therapy, and the organization is deserving of |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | praise for its efforts to uplift those who are facing adversity; |

| 36 | 36 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Legislature hereby recognize October 12, 2025, as Music Heals Day |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | in Texas and commend the Texas Music Project for its support of |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | music therapy to foster the health and well-being of children in |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | need; and, be it further |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 43 | 43 | | prepared for TMP as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
