| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Josh Edwards of Forney has been inducted into the |

| 9 | 9 | | Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2025; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In 1999, Mr. Edwards began working with Rafter G |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Rodeo while attending Hill College; he competed in calf roping |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | before becoming a dedicated pickup rider, who plays a critical role |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in rescuing a rodeo competitor from a bucking horse; Mr. Edwards |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | discovered that the pickup rider's duties combined everything he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | loved about rodeo--roping, horsemanship, timing, and a deep |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | understanding of animals--and over the course of a career spanning |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | a quarter century, he has picked up more than 100,000 horses across |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 25 of the top Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association tour rodeos; |

| 19 | 19 | | among his numerous accolades, he is a two-time National Finals |

| 20 | 20 | | Rodeo Pickup Man and three-time National Finals Steer Roping Pickup |

| 21 | 21 | | Man, and in 2023, he was named the PRCA Pickup Man of the Year; |

| 22 | 22 | | committed to passing down the traditions of rodeo to the next |

| 23 | 23 | | generation, he has been an active member of the PRCA Board of |

| 24 | 24 | | Directors, the NFR Rodeo Committee, and the Texas ProRodeo Circuit |

| 25 | 25 | | Executive Board; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Outside of the arena, Mr. Edwards is an entrepreneur |

| 27 | 27 | | who has managed businesses in medical device sales, auto repair, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | hair styling, and excavation; he has also worked as a radiology |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | technician and performed as a stuntman in several films and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | television shows; in his leisure time, he participates in such |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | grueling competitions as Ironman races, and in 2024, he placed |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | third in the Mongol Derby; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Edwards enjoys the love |

| 34 | 34 | | and support of his wife, Kristi, and their two sons, Blevin and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Brinnon; and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Through his embodiment of the cowboy code of |

| 37 | 37 | | integrity, humility, and an unwavering devotion to the sport of |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | rodeo, Josh Edwards is indeed deserving of a place in the Texas |

| 39 | 39 | | Cowboy Hall of Fame; now, therefore, be it |

| 40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 41 | 41 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Josh Edwards on his induction into |

| 42 | 42 | | the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and extend to him sincere best wishes |
