 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Josh Edwards of Forney has been inducted into the
 Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2025; and
 WHEREAS, In 1999, Mr. Edwards began working with Rafter G
 Rodeo while attending Hill College; he competed in calf roping
 before becoming a dedicated pickup rider, who plays a critical role
 in rescuing a rodeo competitor from a bucking horse; Mr. Edwards
 discovered that the pickup rider's duties combined everything he
 loved about rodeo--roping, horsemanship, timing, and a deep
 understanding of animals--and over the course of a career spanning
 a quarter century, he has picked up more than 100,000 horses across
 25 of the top Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association tour rodeos;
 among his numerous accolades, he is a two-time National Finals
 Rodeo Pickup Man and three-time National Finals Steer Roping Pickup
 Man, and in 2023, he was named the PRCA Pickup Man of the Year;
 committed to passing down the traditions of rodeo to the next
 generation, he has been an active member of the PRCA Board of
 Directors, the NFR Rodeo Committee, and the Texas ProRodeo Circuit
 Executive Board; and
 WHEREAS, Outside of the arena, Mr. Edwards is an entrepreneur
 who has managed businesses in medical device sales, auto repair,
 hair styling, and excavation; he has also worked as a radiology
 technician and performed as a stuntman in several films and
 television shows; in his leisure time, he participates in such
 grueling competitions as Ironman races, and in 2024, he placed
 third in the Mongol Derby; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Edwards enjoys the love
 and support of his wife, Kristi, and their two sons, Blevin and
 Brinnon; and
 WHEREAS, Through his embodiment of the cowboy code of
 integrity, humility, and an unwavering devotion to the sport of
 rodeo, Josh Edwards is indeed deserving of a place in the Texas
 Cowboy Hall of Fame; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Josh Edwards on his induction into
 the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and extend to him sincere best wishes
 for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Edwards as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
