 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The girls' basketball team from Providence
 Preparatory School in Belton brought its season to a triumphant
 close by winning the 2025 Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship state
 championship; and
 WHEREAS, In just the program's fourth year, the Lady Rams
 demonstrated the skill and confidence of a veteran squad, excelling
 during the regular season and opening the playoffs with a decisive
 64-39 decision against Joshua Christian Academy; in the semifinals,
 Providence Prep defeated Heritage Christian Academy 47-41 to punch
 its ticket to the state final; and
 WHEREAS, On February 22 in Cedar Hill, the Lady Rams took the
 floor against district foe Grace Academy of Georgetown; determined
 to avenge two regular-season losses to the Griffins, the Providence
 players gave their all in a tough, defensive battle; when the clock
 expired, the Lady Rams cut down the nets in celebration of a 36-31
 win and the inaugural state championship in school history; with
 the victory, Providence finished the year with an impressive record
 of 17-6; and
 WHEREAS, The Lady Rams were led by Championship Game Most
 Valuable Player Elle Morrison and All-Tournament MVP Sadie Hodge;
 Providence Prep also received valuable contributions throughout
 its campaign from the other members of the roster: Madalyn
 Gaidusek, Lilly Hodge, Sarah Vernon, Rowen Stacey, Audrey Gaidusek,
 Sara Powitzky, Iris Patrick, Abigail Summers, and Shayne Hickland;
 these determined student-athletes were ably guided by head coach
 Tim Hodge and assistant coach Justin Gaidusek, and they received
 additional support from managers Kendall Stacey, Ainsley Wilborn,
 and Naomi Durham and statistician Rebecca Vernon; and
 WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
 culmination of countless hours of training and an unwavering
 commitment to excellence, and the Providence Preparatory Lady Rams
 are a source of great pride to their school and their many
 supporters in the community; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Providence Preparatory School
 girls' basketball team on winning the 2025 TCAF state championship
 and extend to the players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes
 for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
