77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers
99 of Commerce is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding in
1010 2025; and
1111 WHEREAS, Established in 1975, TAMACC serves as the
1212 organizational umbrella for member Hispanic chambers and business
1313 organizations across the state; the association is dedicated to
1414 promoting business leadership, creating economic opportunities,
1515 and providing legislative advocacy for the Hispanic business
1616 community; and
1717 WHEREAS, One of the leading advocates for the approximately
1818 700,000 Hispanic-owned businesses in Texas, TAMACC is
1919 headquartered in Buda and composed of 18 local Hispanic chambers of
2020 commerce and more than 15,000 members; each year, the organization
2121 conducts a convention and business expo, leadership development and
2222 procurement conferences, a legislative advocacy program, and a
2323 Women of Distinction Awards luncheon; and
2424 WHEREAS, TAMACC also provides technical assistance and
2525 support to its members, fosters mutually beneficial relationships
2626 with affiliate organizations, and assists in the development of new
2727 chambers; moreover, its mentorship program, Leadership Tejas,
2828 helps prepare Hispanic business owners, company managers,
2929 community leaders, and volunteers for prominent positions in their
3030 communities and organizations; and
3131 WHEREAS, For half a century, the Texas Association of Mexican
3232 American Chambers of Commerce has played an integral role in the
3333 growth and vitality of the Hispanic business community, and the
3434 organization is indeed deserving of recognition as it marks this
3535 special milestone in its history; now, therefore, be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3737 Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Texas
3838 Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce and extend to
3939 all those affiliated with the organization sincere best wishes for
4040 continued success; and, be it further
4141 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4242 prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
4343 Texas House of Representatives.
