77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, Ayaan Moledina has distinguished himself through
99 his exceptional work as an advocate for the youth community in
1010 Texas; and
1111 WHEREAS, A student at St. Stephen's Episcopal School in
1212 Austin, Mr. Moledina serves as federal policy director of Students
1313 Engaged In Advancing Texas and vice chair of the organization's
1414 board; among his many duties, he has championed legislative efforts
1515 regarding suicide prevention, bullying, mental health, and youth
1616 representation in government; he also worked on federal policy
1717 during his internship with the American Foundation for Suicide
1818 Prevention; as the deputy executive director of the Youth Power
1919 Project, he helped organize the 2024 White House Youth Suicide
2020 Prevention Roundtable, guided advocacy at the Texas Legislature,
2121 and assisted with bills at the local, state, and national levels;
2222 and
2323 WHEREAS, This accomplished young Texan has been involved in
2424 several other advocacy groups, including as public health student
2525 ambassador for ProtectUS, as advocacy associate for Voters of
2626 Tomorrow, as director of partnerships for GENup, and as vice
2727 president of ambassador training and activation for Teens For
2828 Vaccines; he has further given of his time and talents as a board
2929 member of Team ENOUGH, This Is My Brave, and the Round Rock ISD
3030 School Health Advisory Council and as digital director of the
3131 American Muslim and Multifaith Women's Empowerment Council, CALPAK
3232 Education Services, and the Pakistani-American Democratic Club of
3333 Orange County; moreover, he participates in his school's chapter of
3434 Active Minds, and he previously served as a
3535 Watson-Eckhardt-Talarico Campaign Academy fellow for the Travis
3636 County Democratic Party and as a civic engagement fellow for Asian
3737 Texans for Justice; in addition, he has completed internships in
3838 the offices of State Representative Vikki Goodwin,
3939 U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett, and California State Senator
4040 Dr. Richard Pan; and
4141 WHEREAS, Ayaan Moledina has demonstrated an unwavering
4242 commitment to engaging in the legislative process and to improving
4343 the lives of his fellow young Texans, and his myriad efforts are
4444 indeed deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it
4545 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
4646 Legislature hereby honor Ayaan Moledina for his advocacy on youth
4747 issues and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be
4848 it further
4949 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5050 prepared for Mr. Moledina as an expression of high regard by the
5151 Texas House of Representatives.
