No. 966 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ayaan Moledina has distinguished himself through his exceptional work as an advocate for the youth community in Texas; and WHEREAS, A student at St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin, Mr. Moledina serves as federal policy director of Students Engaged In Advancing Texas and vice chair of the organization's board; among his many duties, he has championed legislative efforts regarding suicide prevention, bullying, mental health, and youth representation in government; he also worked on federal policy during his internship with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; as the deputy executive director of the Youth Power Project, he helped organize the 2024 White House Youth Suicide Prevention Roundtable, guided advocacy at the Texas Legislature, and assisted with bills at the local, state, and national levels; and WHEREAS, This accomplished young Texan has been involved in several other advocacy groups, including as public health student ambassador for ProtectUS, as advocacy associate for Voters of Tomorrow, as director of partnerships for GENup, and as vice president of ambassador training and activation for Teens For Vaccines; he has further given of his time and talents as a board member of Team ENOUGH, This Is My Brave, and the Round Rock ISD School Health Advisory Council and as digital director of the American Muslim and Multifaith Women's Empowerment Council, CALPAK Education Services, and the Pakistani-American Democratic Club of Orange County; moreover, he participates in his school's chapter of Active Minds, and he previously served as a Watson-Eckhardt-Talarico Campaign Academy fellow for the Travis County Democratic Party and as a civic engagement fellow for Asian Texans for Justice; in addition, he has completed internships in the offices of State Representative Vikki Goodwin, U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett, and California State Senator Dr. Richard Pan; and WHEREAS, Ayaan Moledina has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to engaging in the legislative process and to improving the lives of his fellow young Texans, and his myriad efforts are indeed deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas Legislature hereby honor Ayaan Moledina for his advocacy on youth issues and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Moledina as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
