| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 2301.476, Occupations Code, is amended | |
| 13 | 13 | by adding Subsection (h-2) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (h-2) Notwithstanding any other law, a person who holds a | |
| 15 | 15 | converter's license is not required to hold any additional license | |
| 16 | 16 | or general distinguishing number to sell to a retail purchaser: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) a new motor vehicle the person converted, if the | |
| 18 | 18 | vehicle manufacturer transferred the chassis and the | |
| 19 | 19 | manufacturer's statement of origin to the person; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (2) a trailer or semitrailer the person manufactured. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 22 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 23 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 25 | 25 | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
