77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to certain retail sales of motor vehicles, trailers, and
1010 semitrailers by a holder of a converter's license.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 2301.476, Occupations Code, is amended
1313 by adding Subsection (h-2) to read as follows:
1414 (h-2) Notwithstanding any other law, a person who holds a
1515 converter's license is not required to hold any additional license
1616 or general distinguishing number to sell to a retail purchaser:
1717 (1) a new motor vehicle the person converted, if the
1818 vehicle manufacturer transferred the chassis and the
1919 manufacturer's statement of origin to the person; or
2020 (2) a trailer or semitrailer the person manufactured.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2222 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2323 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2424 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2525 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
