10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 258, Occupations Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 258.0531 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 258.0531. USE OF BOTULINUM TOXIN. (a) A dentist may, | |
14 | 14 | for aesthetic purposes, administer to a patient's oral and | |
15 | 15 | maxillofacial regions a neuromodulator containing botulinum toxin | |
16 | 16 | or a biosimilar or bioequivalent neuromodulator only if the dentist | |
17 | 17 | has completed a course of training approved by the board on the | |
18 | 18 | administration of the neuromodulator. | |
19 | 19 | (b) The board shall adopt rules to implement this section. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2025, the State Board | |
21 | 21 | of Dental Examiners shall adopt the rules required by Section | |
22 | 22 | 258.0531, Occupations Code, as added by this Act. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
