77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the definition of licensing authority as it relates to
1010 the collection of certain licensing information about certain
1111 day-care employees.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 42.0562(c)(2), Human Resources Code, is
1414 amended to read as follows:
1515 (2) "Licensing authority" means a department,
1616 commission, board, office, or other agency of the state that issues
1717 a license, including:
1818 (A) the Department of State Health Services;
1919 (B) the Health and Human Services Commission;
2020 (C) the Texas Behavioral Health Executive
2121 Council;
2222 (D) the Texas Juvenile Justice Department;
2323 (E) the Texas Board of Nursing;
2424 (F) the Texas Medical Board;
2525 (G) the State Board for Educator Certification;
2626 and
2727 (H) the Texas Department of Licensing and
2828 Regulation.
2929 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
