 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the definition of licensing authority as it relates to
 the collection of certain licensing information about certain
 day-care employees.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Section 42.0562(c)(2), Human Resources Code, is
 amended to read as follows:
 (2)  "Licensing authority" means a department,
 commission, board, office, or other agency of the state that issues
 a license, including:
 (A)  the Department of State Health Services;
 (B)  the Health and Human Services Commission;
 (C)  the Texas Behavioral Health Executive
 Council;
 (D)  the Texas Juvenile Justice Department;
 (E)  the Texas Board of Nursing;
 (F)  the Texas Medical Board;
 (G)  the State Board for Educator Certification;
 and
 (H)  the Texas Department of Licensing and
 Regulation.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
