11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Article 56B.054(f), Code of Criminal Procedure | |
13 | 13 | is amended to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Art. 56B.054(f) On request by the attorney general and not later | |
15 | 15 | than the 14th business day after the date of the request, a law | |
16 | 16 | enforcement agency shall release to the attorney general all | |
17 | 17 | reports, including witness statements and criminal history record | |
18 | 18 | information, to allow the attorney general to determine whether a | |
19 | 19 | claimant or victim qualifies for an award and the extent of the | |
20 | 20 | qualification. Information received by the attorney general under | |
21 | 21 | this subsection is not subject to release under Texas Government | |
22 | 22 | Code Chapter 552. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
