 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to requests for law enforcement agency reports from the
 attorney general related to crime victims' compensation
 applications.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Article 56B.054(f), Code of Criminal Procedure
 is amended to read as follows:
 Art. 56B.054(f)  On request by the attorney general and not later
 than the 14th business day after the date of the request, a law
 enforcement agency shall release to the attorney general all
 reports, including witness statements and criminal history record
 information, to allow the attorney general to determine whether a
 claimant or victim qualifies for an award and the extent of the
 qualification. Information received by the attorney general under
 this subsection is not subject to release under Texas Government
 Code Chapter 552.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
