138 AN ACT
14- relating to the conveyance of certain park land owned by certain
15- municipalities.
9+ relating to the sale of park land owned by certain municipalities.
1610 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1711 SECTION 1. Section 253.001, Local Government Code, is
1812 amended by adding Subsection (m) to read as follows:
1913 (m) Subsection (b) does not apply to a conveyance of park
20- land:
21- (1) owned by a municipality with a population of at
22- least 140,000 that is located in a county that:
23- (A) has a population of at least 800,000;
24- (B) is located on an international border; and
25- (C) does not have a municipality with a
26- population of more than 500,000 located in the county;
27- (2) located within one mile of a convention facility
28- owned by the municipality; and
29- (3) authorized to be conveyed by a resolution or
30- ordinance adopted by the governing body of the municipality.
14+ land owned by a municipality that:
15+ (1) is located in a county that:
16+ (A) is adjacent to the Texas-Mexico border;
17+ (B) has a population of at least 800,000; and
18+ (C) does not include a city that has a population
19+ of at least 500,000; and
20+ (2) is the largest municipality in a county described
21+ by Subdivision (1).
3122 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3223 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3324 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3425 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3526 Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
