11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 775.073(b), Health and Safety Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (b) The board by resolution may allow a district employee | |
15 | 15 | who has executed a bond in an amount equal to the amount required | |
16 | 16 | for the district treasurer to sign an instrument to disburse | |
17 | 17 | district funds. An expenditure of more than $50,000 [$2,000] may | |
18 | 18 | not be paid unless the expenditure is presented to the board and the | |
19 | 19 | board approves the expenditure. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
21 | 21 | to a purchase made on or after the effective date of this Act. A | |
22 | 22 | purchase made before the effective date of this Act is governed by | |
23 | 23 | the law as it existed immediately before the effective date of this | |
24 | 24 | Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
