77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the amount of an expenditure that may be paid by an
1010 emergency services district employee without board approval.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 775.073(b), Health and Safety Code, is
1313 amended to read as follows:
1414 (b) The board by resolution may allow a district employee
1515 who has executed a bond in an amount equal to the amount required
1616 for the district treasurer to sign an instrument to disburse
1717 district funds. An expenditure of more than $50,000 [$2,000] may
1818 not be paid unless the expenditure is presented to the board and the
1919 board approves the expenditure.
2020 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2121 to a purchase made on or after the effective date of this Act. A
2222 purchase made before the effective date of this Act is governed by
2323 the law as it existed immediately before the effective date of this
2424 Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose.
2525 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
