 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
relating to the amount of an expenditure that may be paid by an
emergency services district employee without board approval.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 775.073(b), Health and Safety Code, is
 amended to read as follows:
 (b) The board by resolution may allow a district employee
who has executed a bond in an amount equal to the amount required
for the district treasurer to sign an instrument to disburse
district funds. An expenditure of more than $50,000 [$2,000] may
not be paid unless the expenditure is presented to the board and the
 board approves the expenditure.
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
to a purchase made on or after the effective date of this Act. A
purchase made before the effective date of this Act is governed by
the law as it existed immediately before the effective date of this
Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
