| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 143.089(h), Local Government Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (h) The following are entitled to view the contents of a | |
| 14 | 14 | police officer's personnel file maintained under Subsection (g): | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) as [As] provided by Section 1701.451, Occupations | |
| 16 | 16 | Code, a law enforcement agency hiring the [a police] officer; and | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) a prosecuting attorney's office conducting a | |
| 18 | 18 | criminal investigation of the officer [is entitled to view the | |
| 19 | 19 | contents of the officer's personnel file maintained under | |
| 20 | 20 | Subsection (g)]. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
