| 11 | 18 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 19 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 13 | 20 | | is amended by adding Section 225.243 to read as follows: |

| 14 | 21 | | Sec. 225.243. DOUG PITCOCK AGGIE EXPRESSWAY. (a) |
|---|
| 15 | 22 | | Notwithstanding Section 225.001(c), the portion of State Highway |
|---|
| 16 | 23 | | 249 in Grimes and Montgomery Counties between its intersection with |
|---|
| 17 | 24 | | State Highway 105 and its southern intersection with Farm-to-Market |
|---|
| 18 | 25 | | Road 1774 is designated as the Doug Pitcock Aggie Expressway. The |
|---|
| 19 | 26 | | designation is in addition to any other designation. |
|---|
| 20 | 27 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|---|
| 21 | 28 | | (1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|---|
| 22 | 29 | | designation as the Doug Pitcock Aggie Expressway and any other |
|---|
| 23 | 30 | | appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 24 | 31 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|---|
| 25 | 32 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |
|---|
| 26 | 33 | | SECTION 2. It is the intent of the 89th Legislature, Regular |
|---|
| 27 | 34 | | Session, 2025, that the provisions added by this Act be renumbered |
|---|
| 28 | 35 | | to prevent multiple provisions with the same designation. |
|---|
| 29 | 36 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
