| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 7, Education Code, is | |
| 13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 7.009 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 7.009. SCHOOL DISTRICT PROFILE REPORT. (a) Not later | |
| 15 | 15 | than December 31 of each year, the agency shall prepare and make | |
| 16 | 16 | available on the agency's Internet website a report that provides | |
| 17 | 17 | an overview of public education at the state and school district | |
| 18 | 18 | levels for the preceding school year. | |
| 19 | 19 | (b) The report must: | |
| 20 | 20 | (1) include multiple browsable and downloadable data | |
| 21 | 21 | elements that: | |
| 22 | 22 | (A) combine data into summary tables based on | |
| 23 | 23 | specific characteristics of school districts; and | |
| 24 | 24 | (B) provide specific data on individual school | |
| 25 | 25 | districts; | |
| 26 | 26 | (2) include a peer search function that allows a user | |
| 27 | 27 | to group school districts by shared characteristics; and | |
| 28 | 28 | (3) provide definitions for each data element and the | |
| 29 | 29 | source of the data. | |
| 30 | 30 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
