 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to monetary assistance provided by the Department of
 Family and Protective Services to certain parental child safety
 placement caregivers.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Subchapter L, Chapter 264, Family Code, is
 amended by adding Section 264.908 to read as follows:
 Sec. 264.908.  CAREGIVER ASSISTANCE AGREEMENTS. (a) The
 department shall, subject to the availability of funds, enter into
 a caregiver assistance agreement under Section 264.755 with a
 caregiver who has a family income that is less than or equal to 300
 percent of the federal poverty level who enters into a parental
 child safety placement to provide monetary assistance to the
 caregiver for the duration of the parental child safety placement.
 (b)  The department shall provide written notice to the
 parental child safety placement caregiver about the availability of
 and eligibility requirements for monetary assistance under this
 section at the earlier of the date:
 (1)  the parental child safety placement agreement is
 signed; or
 (2)  the child is placed with the caregiver.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
