| 11 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 11, Education Code, is |

| 13 | 16 | | amended by adding Section 11.012 to read as follows: |

| 14 | 17 | | Sec. 11.012. REQUIREMENT REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF A |
|---|
| 15 | 18 | | POLICY. Any requirement of law that imposes a duty to adopt a |
|---|
| 16 | 19 | | policy imposes a duty on the school district, board of trustees, and |
|---|
| 17 | 20 | | school district personnel to implement and act in accordance with |
|---|
| 18 | 21 | | the policy requirements. |

| 19 | 22 | | SECTION 2. Section 12.013, Education Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 20 | 23 | | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 21 | 24 | | (c) Any requirement of law that imposes a duty to adopt a |
|---|
| 22 | 25 | | policy imposes a duty on the home-rule school district, its |
|---|
| 23 | 26 | | governing body, and school personnel to implement and act in |
|---|
| 24 | 27 | | accordance with the policy requirements. |

| 25 | 28 | | SECTION 3. Section 12.056, Education Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 26 | 29 | | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |

| 27 | 30 | | (c) Any requirement of law that imposes a duty to adopt a |

| 28 | 31 | | policy imposes a duty on the campus charter school, its governing |
|---|
| 29 | 32 | | body, and its school personnel to implement and act in accordance |

| 31 | 34 | | SECTION 4. Section 12.104, Education Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 32 | 35 | | adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |

| 33 | 36 | | (e) Any requirement of law that imposes a duty to adopt a |

| 34 | 37 | | policy imposes a duty on the open-enrollment charter school, its |
|---|
| 35 | 38 | | governing body, and its school personnel to implement and act in |
|---|
| 36 | 39 | | accordance with the policy requirements. |

| 37 | 40 | | SECTION 5. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 38 | 41 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 39 | 42 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 40 | 43 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 41 | 44 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
