58 WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close
69 with the passing of Ramon Jaramillo on September 26, 2023, at the
710 age of 72; and
811 WHEREAS, The son of Francisco and Angelita Jaramillo,
912 "Raymond" Jaramillo was born on February 19, 1951, and he grew up on
1013 the family farm with eight brothers and sisters, Frank, Jerry,
1114 Arnold, Arturo, Elisa, Susie, Alma, and his twin, Lupe; he
1215 graduated from high school in Devine in 1971, and he went on to
1316 attend the Texas A&I University in Kingsville; and
14- WHEREAS, Mr. Jaramillo subsequently returned home to
15- Devine to tend to his family's farm; he exchanged wedding vows
16- with Diane Vargas on December 29, 1973, and the couple shared a
17- rewarding marriage that spanned nearly half a century; they
18- became the devoted parents of two children, Michael and Amanda,
19- and their family later grew to include three grandchildren; and
20- WHEREAS, In 1986, Mr. Jaramillo graduated from the 40th
21- class of the Texas Game Warden Academy; he was stationed in
22- Rockport, and during that time, he returned to college as a student
23- at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi; in 1994, he transferred to
24- Menard, where he and his wife bought a small farm; engaged in his
25- community, he conducted a number of hunting programs for youth and
26- volunteered at Camp Sol Mayer, a Scouts BSA facility, in the
27- summers; he retired from his career as a game warden in February
28- 2008; and
17+ WHEREAS, Mr. Jaramillo subsequently returned home to Devine
18+ to tend to his family's farm; he exchanged wedding vows with Diane

33- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
34- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ramon Jaramillo
35- and extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to
36- his wife, Diane Jaramillo; to his children, Michael Jaramillo and
37- his wife, Deana, and Amanda Goodson and her husband, Sam; to his
38- grandchildren, Lane, Haylee, and Paylin; to his siblings, Jerry,
39- Arnold, Arturo, and Lupe Jaramillo, Elisa Salinas, Susie
40- Dandridge, and Alma Sepulveda; and to all others who mourn his
41- passing; and, be it further
35+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
36+ hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ramon Jaramillo and extend
37+ deepest condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Diane
38+ Jaramillo; to his children, Michael Jaramillo and his wife, Deana,
39+ and Amanda Goodson and her husband, Sam; to his grandchildren,
40+ Lane, Haylee, and Paylin; to his siblings, Jerry, Arnold, Arturo,
41+ and Lupe Jaramillo, Elisa Salinas, Susie Dandridge, and Alma
42+ Sepulveda; and to all others who mourn his passing; and, be it

43- prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
44- this day, it do so in memory of Raymond Jaramillo.
