SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 101 In Memory of Ramon Jaramillo WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close with the passing of Ramon Jaramillo on September 26, 2023, at the age of 72; and WHEREAS, The son of Francisco and Angelita Jaramillo, "Raymond" Jaramillo was born on February 19, 1951, and he grew up on the family farm with eight brothers and sisters, Frank, Jerry, Arnold, Arturo, Elisa, Susie, Alma, and his twin, Lupe; he graduated from high school in Devine in 1971, and he went on to attend the Texas A&I University in Kingsville; and WHEREAS, Mr. Jaramillo subsequently returned home to Devine to tend to his family's farm; he exchanged wedding vows with Diane Vargas on December 29, 1973, and the couple shared a rewarding marriage that spanned nearly half a century; they became the devoted parents of two children, Michael and Amanda, and their family later grew to include three grandchildren; and WHEREAS, In 1986, Mr. Jaramillo graduated from the 40th class of the Texas Game Warden Academy; he was stationed in Rockport, and during that time, he returned to college as a student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi; in 1994, he transferred to Menard, where he and his wife bought a small farm; engaged in his community, he conducted a number of hunting programs for youth and volunteered at Camp Sol Mayer, a Scouts BSA facility, in the summers; he retired from his career as a game warden in February 2008; and WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Raymond Jaramillo leaves behind many friends and loved ones whose lives are far richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ramon Jaramillo and extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Diane Jaramillo; to his children, Michael Jaramillo and his wife, Deana, and Amanda Goodson and her husband, Sam; to his grandchildren, Lane, Haylee, and Paylin; to his siblings, Jerry, Arnold, Arturo, and Lupe Jaramillo, Elisa Salinas, Susie Dandridge, and Alma Sepulveda; and to all others who mourn his passing; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Raymond Jaramillo.
