58 WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Charles Alfred
69 Williamson of Tyler were deeply saddened by his death on December
710 20, 2024, at the age of 55; and
811 WHEREAS, Born on July 6, 1969, to J. C. and Shirley Quick
912 Williamson, Charlie Williamson graduated from Palestine High
10- School; he went on to attend The University of Texas at Tyler,
11- where he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice; he
12- worked at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, rising to the
13- rank of warden, and he retired after nearly 20 years of dedicated
14- service; he later was employed by Recana Recruiting and Staffing
15- Solutions; and
13+ School; he went on to attend The University of Texas at Tyler, where
14+ he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice; he worked at the
15+ Texas Department of Criminal Justice, rising to the rank of warden,
16+ and he retired after nearly 20 years of dedicated service; he later
17+ was employed by Recana Recruiting and Staffing Solutions; and
1618 WHEREAS, Public service was of great importance to
1719 Mr. Williamson, and he served as the Rusk County Republican Party
1820 Chair from 2012 to 2024; he was also an avid Longhorns fan, and he
1921 enjoyed watching college football with his loved ones; a lifelong
2022 Methodist, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Allison
2123 Plunkett Williamson; and
22- WHEREAS, Although Charlie Williamson will be deeply
23- missed, he has left his family and friends with a wealth of
24- memories that they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
25- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
26- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Alfred
27- Williamson and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
28- family: to his children, James "Jay" Williamson and Jenna Kathryn
29- Williamson; to his parents, J. C. and Shirley Williamson; to his
30- father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Sarah Plunkett; to his
31- stepson, William Plunkett, and stepdaughter, Evie Plunkett; to
32- his brother-in-law, Logan Plunkett; and to his many other
33- relatives and friends; and, be it further
24+ WHEREAS, Although Charlie Williamson will be deeply missed,
25+ he has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that
26+ they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
27+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
28+ hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Alfred Williamson and
