SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 149 In Memory of Charles Williamson WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Charles Alfred Williamson of Tyler were deeply saddened by his death on December 20, 2024, at the age of 55; and WHEREAS, Born on July 6, 1969, to J. C. and Shirley Quick Williamson, Charlie Williamson graduated from Palestine High School; he went on to attend The University of Texas at Tyler, where he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice; he worked at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, rising to the rank of warden, and he retired after nearly 20 years of dedicated service; he later was employed by Recana Recruiting and Staffing Solutions; and WHEREAS, Public service was of great importance to Mr. Williamson, and he served as the Rusk County Republican Party Chair from 2012 to 2024; he was also an avid Longhorns fan, and he enjoyed watching college football with his loved ones; a lifelong Methodist, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Allison Plunkett Williamson; and WHEREAS, Although Charlie Williamson will be deeply missed, he has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Alfred Williamson and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his children, James "Jay" Williamson and Jenna Kathryn Williamson; to his parents, J. C. and Shirley Williamson; to his father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Sarah Plunkett; to his stepson, William Plunkett, and stepdaughter, Evie Plunkett; to his brother-in-law, Logan Plunkett; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Charlie Williamson.
