58 WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
6- passing of Loy Gordon of Kilgore on January 22, 2025, at the age
7- of 88; and
9+ passing of Loy Gordon of Kilgore on January 22, 2025, at the age of
10+ 88; and
811 WHEREAS, The son of Lucille and Gus Gordon, Loy Gordon was
912 born in Kilgore on September 27, 1936, and he grew up with the
1013 companionship of three brothers, Wayne, Terry, and Charley, and a
1114 sister, Joan; and
1215 WHEREAS, Mr. Gordon attended Kilgore schools and went on to
13- devote many years of his life to the family business, Gus Gordon
14- and Son House Movers, and played an important role in its
15- success; he later enjoyed working as a greeter at the Walmart in
16- Kilgore; and

1719 WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Gordon was a member of
1820 Trinity Assembly of God, where his wife of 69 years, Nona, played
1921 the piano during church services; over the course of the couple's
20- marriage, they were blessed with 2 daughters, Cindy and
21- Charlotte, and their family later grew to include 5 grandchildren
22- and 13 great-grandchildren; and
23- WHEREAS, Mr. Gordon was an avid sports fan who rooted for
24- the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, and he took pleasure in
22+ marriage, they were blessed with 2 daughters, Cindy and Charlotte,
23+ and their family later grew to include 5 grandchildren and 13
24+ great-grandchildren; and
25+ WHEREAS, Mr. Gordon was an avid sports fan who rooted for the
26+ Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, and he took pleasure in
2527 fishing, playing tennis, and bowling; he coached Little League
2628 Baseball, and he supported his grandchildren at their sporting
2729 events, graduations, and other important activities; and
28- WHEREAS, Although Loy Gordon will be deeply missed, he
29- has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that
30- they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
31- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
32- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Loy Gordon and
33- extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
34- wife, Nona Gordon; to his children, Cindy Allen and her husband,
35- Lennie, and Charlotte Mobbs and her husband, Kenny; to his
36- brother, Charley Gordon, and his wife, Kathy; to his sister, Joan
37- Long; to his grandchildren, Jason, James, Nate, Natalie, and
38- Jessica; to his great-grandchildren, Codi, Bailee, Presley,
39- Jaxxon, Jessie, Archer, Alana, Kinley, Colt, Nolan, Brynn,
40- Sophia, and Peyton; and to his many other relatives and friends;
41- and, be it further
30+ WHEREAS, Although Loy Gordon will be deeply missed, he has
31+ left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will
32+ forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
33+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
34+ hereby pay tribute to the memory of Loy Gordon and extend sincere
35+ condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Nona Gordon;
36+ to his children, Cindy Allen and her husband, Lennie, and Charlotte
37+ Mobbs and her husband, Kenny; to his brother, Charley Gordon, and
38+ his wife, Kathy; to his sister, Joan Long; to his grandchildren,
