| 5 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1846, Grayson County has evolved |

| 6 | 11 | | from its agricultural roots into a thriving center for |
|---|
| 7 | 12 | | manufacturing, commerce, and technological advancement, all |
|---|
| 8 | 13 | | while preserving its heritage and maintaining its unique |
|---|
| 9 | 14 | | character; and |
|---|
| 10 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The City of Sherman, the heart of Grayson County |
|---|
| 11 | 16 | | as well as its county seat, has attracted significant interest |
|---|
| 12 | 17 | | from major corporations, and it was selected as the location for |
|---|
| 13 | 18 | | new multimillion-dollar production facilities for Texas |
|---|
| 14 | 19 | | Instruments, Coherent, Easy Foods, Molinos USA, and Persys; |
|---|
| 15 | 20 | | moreover, Sunny Delight received an investment of $38 million for |
|---|
| 16 | 21 | | machinery and equipment upgrades at its Sherman plant, and Tyson |
|---|
| 17 | 22 | | Foods invested $30 million in upgrades at its local facility; in |
|---|
| 18 | 23 | | addition, GlobalWafers America has committed $5 billion to a |
|---|
| 19 | 24 | | project to manufacture silicon wafers in Sherman, an endeavor |
|---|
| 20 | 25 | | that will further solidify the city's presence in the |
|---|
| 21 | 26 | | semiconductor industry; and |
|---|
| 22 | 27 | | WHEREAS, These investments are the result of strong |
|---|
| 23 | 28 | | collaboration among local leadership at the City of Sherman, |
|---|
| 24 | 29 | | Grayson County, the Sherman Economic Development Corporation, |
|---|
| 25 | 30 | | and Workforce Solutions Texoma; together, they have facilitated |
|---|
| 26 | 31 | | the creation of jobs and the cultivation of a growing talent |
|---|
| 27 | 32 | | pipeline through partnerships with Austin College, Grayson |
|---|
| 28 | 33 | | College, and the Sherman Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 29 | 34 | | WHEREAS, By fostering entrepreneurship, workforce |
|---|
| 30 | 35 | | development, and small business growth, Grayson County and the |
|---|
| 31 | 36 | | City of Sherman have set a standard for sustainable economic |
|---|
| 32 | 37 | | progress and regional collaboration, and these efforts are |
|---|
| 33 | 38 | | helping to ensure the long-term prosperity of the community and |
|---|
| 34 | 39 | | its residents; now, therefore, be it |

| 35 | | - | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
