2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		recognize the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce, which is
4	10		celebrating its 100th anniversary on April 3, 2025, with a
5	11		special event held in Caldwell; and
6	12		WHEREAS, Local leaders in the business, farming, and
7	13		banking industries organized the Burleson County Chamber of
8	14		Commerce in 1925 to promote civic improvement and economic
9	15		prosperity in the area; in 1935, the chamber changed its name to
10	16		the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce, and a 1937 newspaper article
11	17		reported that all but two area businesses had joined the thriving
12	18		organization; and
13	19		WHEREAS, Through the years, the chamber has supported a
14	20		wide range of civic and infrastructure development projects to
15	21		address the evolving needs of area businesses, farms, and
16	22		industries and to improve the quality of life for county
17	23		residents; its many accomplishments include organizing the
18	24		Burleson County Industrial Foundation and establishing the
19	25		Kolache Festival, a cultural celebration that has grown to become
20	26		one of the county's major annual events; and
21	27		WHEREAS, The Burleson County Chamber of Commerce readopted
22	28		its original name in June of 1998, when the Caldwell and
23	29		Somerville Chambers of Commerce merged to reestablish a
24	30		countywide chamber of commerce that would serve the needs of
25	31		communities throughout all of Burleson County; the chamber has
26	32		continued to work to improve the lives and livelihoods of the
27	33		county's residents and to promote a robust and thriving business
28	34		community, and it is indeed fitting that the chamber's members
29	35		celebrate its century of contributions to Burleson County; now,
30	36		therefore, be it
31	37		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
32	38		Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Burleson County
33	39		Chamber of Commerce for their outstanding efforts on behalf of
34	40		the people of Burleson County and extend best wishes to all for a
35	41		memorable 100th anniversary celebration; and, be it further
36	42		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
37	43		the chamber as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
