SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 387
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce, which is
celebrating its 100th anniversary on April 3, 2025, with a
special event held in Caldwell; and
WHEREAS, Local leaders in the business, farming, and
banking industries organized the Burleson County Chamber of
Commerce in 1925 to promote civic improvement and economic
prosperity in the area; in 1935, the chamber changed its name to
the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce, and a 1937 newspaper article
reported that all but two area businesses had joined the thriving
organization; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, the chamber has supported a
wide range of civic and infrastructure development projects to
address the evolving needs of area businesses, farms, and
industries and to improve the quality of life for county
residents; its many accomplishments include organizing the
Burleson County Industrial Foundation and establishing the
Kolache Festival, a cultural celebration that has grown to become
one of the county's major annual events; and
WHEREAS, The Burleson County Chamber of Commerce readopted
its original name in June of 1998, when the Caldwell and
Somerville Chambers of Commerce merged to reestablish a
countywide chamber of commerce that would serve the needs of
communities throughout all of Burleson County; the chamber has
continued to work to improve the lives and livelihoods of the
county's residents and to promote a robust and thriving business
community, and it is indeed fitting that the chamber's members
celebrate its century of contributions to Burleson County; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Burleson County
Chamber of Commerce for their outstanding efforts on behalf of
the people of Burleson County and extend best wishes to all for a
memorable 100th anniversary celebration; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the chamber as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
