58 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
6- passing of William D. Howell of Lubbock on November 4, 2023, at
7- the age of 94; and
9+ passing of William D. Howell of Lubbock on November 4, 2023, at the
10+ age of 94; and
811 WHEREAS, The son of William and Emma Jane Howell, "Bud"
912 Howell was born in Minerva on August 27, 1929, and he grew up with
1013 the companionship of a sister, Susie; during the Korean War, he
1114 answered his nation's call to duty and enlisted in the U.S. Navy,
1215 where he served on a destroyer; and
1316 WHEREAS, Returning to civilian life, Mr. Howell trained in
1417 1960 as a member of the 12th Texas Game Warden Training Academy
1518 class; he went on to work in several East Texas counties before
1619 making his home in the town of Post, and in 1991, he retired after
1720 more than three decades of distinguished service; and
1821 WHEREAS, On November 3, 2011, Mr. Howell wed Ann Bishop and
19- the couple shared a rewarding marriage that spanned 12 years; he
20- was a man of strong faith, and he also enjoyed spending time
21- outdoors; and

2225 WHEREAS, Although Bud Howell will be deeply missed, he has

25- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
26- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of William D. Howell
27- and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to
28- his wife, Ann Bishop; to his stepdaughter, Kelly Maner, and her
29- husband, Wade; to his step-granddaughter, Amy Maner; to his
30- sister, Susie Weems; to his nephew, Ted Weems, and his wife, Amy;
31- to his niece, Diane Fishero, and her husband, John; and to his
32- other relatives and many friends; and, be it further

27+ forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
28+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
29+ hereby pay tribute to the life of William D. Howell and extend
