3030 XEMPTION FOR MEDICALMARIHUANA.—Sec-4
3131 tion 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended— 5
3232 (1) in subsection (d)(3), by inserting before the 6
3333 semicolon the following: ‘‘(except that an individual 7
3434 shall not be treated as an unlawful user of or ad-8
3535 dicted to any controlled substance based on the indi-9
3636 vidual using marihuana for a medical purpose in ac-10
3737 cordance with State law)’’; and 11
3838 (2) in subsection (g)(3), by inserting before the 12
3939 semicolon the following: ‘‘(except that an individual 13
4040 shall not be treated as an unlawful user of or ad-14
4141 dicted to any controlled substance based on the indi-15
4242 vidual using marihuana for a medical purpose in ac-16
4343 cordance with State law)’’. 17
4444 (b) E
4545 FFECTIVEDATE.—The amendments made by 18
4646 this section shall take effect 90 days after the date of en-19
4747 actment of this Act. 20
