exemption for certain shoreline borrow sites.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. EXEMPTION TO COASTAL BARRIER RESTRIC-3
TIONS FOR SHORELINE BORROW SITES. 4
Section 6 of the Coastal Barrier Resources Act (16 5
U.S.C. 3505) is amended by adding at the end the fol-6
lowing new subsection: 7
‘‘(e) B
ORROWSITE.—Section 5 shall not apply to ex-8
penditures or financial assistance relating to the use of 9
funds to use a borrow site located within the System if 10

such site has been in use as a borrow site by a coastal 1
storm risk management project for a period of more than 2
15 years.’’. 3
