	61	+	ONFORMINGAMENDMENTS.—Subsections (e)(2) 4
	62	+	and (f)(2) of section 202 of such Act (42 U.S.C. 402) are 5
	63	+	each amended by striking ‘‘section 215(f)(5), 215(f)(6), 6
	64	+	or 215(f)(9)(B)’’ in subparagraphs (C) and (D)(i) and in-7
	65	+	serting ‘‘paragraph (5) or (6) of section 215(f)’’. 8
	66	+	SEC. 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. 9
	67	+	The amendments made by this Act shall apply with 10
	68	+	respect to monthly insurance benefits payable under title 11
	69	+	II of the Social Security Act for months after December 12
	70	+	2023. Notwithstanding section 215(f) of the Social Secu-13
	71	+	rity Act, the Commissioner of Social Security shall adjust 14
	72	+	primary insurance amounts to the extent necessary to take 15
	73	+	into account the amendments made by section 3. 16

36		-	(1) in subsection (a), by striking paragraph (7);
37		-	(2) in subsection (d), by striking paragraph (3); and
38		-	(3) in subsection (f), by striking paragraph (9).
39		-	(b) C
40		-	ONFORMING AMENDMENTS .—Subsections (e)(2) and (f)(2)
41		-	of section 202 of such Act (42 U.S.C. 402) are each amended by
42		-	striking ‘‘section 215(f)(5), 215(f)(6), or 215(f)(9)(B)’’ in subpara-
43		-	graphs (C) and (D)(i) and inserting ‘‘paragraph (5) or (6) of section
44		-	215(f)’’.
45		-	SEC. 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
46		-	The amendments made by this Act shall apply with respect
47		-	to monthly insurance benefits payable under title II of the Social
48		-	Security Act for months after December 2023. Notwithstanding
49		-	section 215(f) of the Social Security Act, the Commissioner of Social
50		-	Security shall adjust primary insurance amounts to the extent H. R. 82—2
51		-	necessary to take into account the amendments made by section
52		-	3.
