37 | 37 | | ‘‘SEC. 8528A. MILITARY RECRUITER ACCESS TO SECONDARY 6 |

38 | 38 | | SCHOOL CAMPUSES. 7 |

39 | 39 | | ‘‘Each local educational agency receiving assistance 8 |

40 | 40 | | under this Act shall provide military recruiters the same 9 |
---|
41 | 41 | | access to the campus of each secondary school served by 10 |
---|
42 | 42 | | the local educational agency for the purpose of recruiting 11 |
---|
43 | 43 | | students who are at least 17 years of age that is provided 12 |
---|
44 | 44 | | to any prospective employer, institution of higher edu-13 |
---|
45 | 45 | | cation, or other recruiter.’’. 14 |

47 | 47 | | FFECTIVEDATE.—The amendment made by 15 |

48 | 48 | | this Act shall take effect 1 year after the date of enact-16 |

50 | 50 | | SEC. 3. COMPLIANCE MONITORING AND REPORTING. 18 |

51 | 51 | | On an annual basis, the Secretary of Defense shall— 19 |
---|
52 | 52 | | (1) collect information from military recruiters 20 |
---|
53 | 53 | | regarding the compliance of local educational agen-21 |
---|
54 | 54 | | cies with the requirements of section 8528A of the 22 |
---|
55 | 55 | | Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 23 |
---|
56 | 56 | | (as added by section 2 of this Act); and 24 |
---|
