1818 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
1919 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Jobs and Opportunities 4
2020 for Medicaid Act’’. 5
2121 SEC. 2. WORK REQUIREMENTS FOR ABLE-BODIED ADULTS. 6
2222 Section 1902 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 7
2323 1396a) is amended— 8
2424 (1) in subsection (a)— 9

3434 ‘‘(88) beginning January 1, 2026, not provide 7
3535 medical assistance with respect to a month to an 8
3636 able-bodied adult (as defined in subsection (uu)(2)) 9

4646 ORK REQUIREMENT DESCRIBED .—For 16
4747 purposes of subsection (a)(88), the work require-17
4848 ment described in this subsection with respect to an 18
4949 able-bodied adult and a month is that such adult 19
5050 satisfies at least one of the following with respect to 20
5151 such month: 21
5252 ‘‘(A) The adult works 20 hours or more 22
5353 per week, based on a monthly average. 23
5454 ‘‘(B) The adult volunteers for 20 hours or 24
5555 more per week, based on a monthly average. 25

5959 ‘‘(2) ABLE-BODIED ADULT DEFINED .—In this 1
6060 subsection, the term ‘able-bodied adult’ means any 2
6161 individual who is not— 3
6262 ‘‘(A) under 18 years of age or over 65 4
6363 years of age; 5
6464 ‘‘(B) medically certified as physically or 6
6565 mentally unfit for employment; 7
6666 ‘‘(C) pregnant; 8
6767 ‘‘(D) the primary parent or caretaker of a 9
6868 dependent child under 6 years of age; 10
6969 ‘‘(E) the primary parent or caretaker of a 11
7070 dependent child with a serious medical condi-12
7171 tion or disability, as determined by the State 13
7272 agency established or designated to administer 14
7373 or supervise the administration of the State 15
7474 plan; 16
7575 ‘‘(F) receiving unemployment compensa-17
7676 tion under State or Federal law and, as applica-18
7777 ble, complying with work requirements under 19
7878 such State or Federal law; or 20
7979 ‘‘(G) participating in a drug addiction or 21
8080 alcoholic treatment and rehabilitation program 22
8181 (as defined in section 3(h) of the Food and Nu-23
8282 trition Act of 2008).’’. 24
