Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘USPS Subpoena Au-4 thority Act’’. 5 SEC. 2. UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE ADMINISTRATIVE 6 SUBPOENA AUTHORITY. 7 Section 3016(a)(1) of title 39, United States Code, 8 is amended— 9 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:36 Jan 30, 2025 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00001 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H170.IH H170 ssavage on LAPJG3WLY3PROD with BILLS 2 •HR 170 IH (1) by redesignating subparagraph (B) as sub-1 paragraph (D); 2 (2) by striking subparagraph (A) and inserting 3 the following: 4 ‘‘(A) I N GENERAL.—In any investigation 5 relating to a covered offense, the Postmaster 6 General may issue in writing and cause to be 7 served a subpoena requiring the production and 8 testimony described in subparagraph (B).
