Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. SENSE OF CONGRESS. 1 It is the sense of Congress that the United States 2 should provide leadership by— 3 (1) signing the Treaty on the Prohibition of 4 Nuclear Weapons; 5 (2) ratifying such treaty when it is clear that 6 ratification will result in— 7 (A) the dismantlement and elimination of 8 all nuclear weapons in every country; and 9 (B) strict and effective international con-10 trol of such dismantlement and elimination; and 11 (3) working with the other nuclear-armed na-12 tions to ensure the verifiable and irreversible elimi-13 nation of all nuclear weapons from all countries, in 14 accordance with the Treaty on the Prohibition of 15 Nuclear Weapons. 16 SEC. 3.
