| 36 | 36 | | NGENERAL.—An institution of higher education 3 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | shall immediately report to the SEVIS when a student 4 |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | holding a J–1 or F–1 nonimmigrant visa has participated 5 |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | in activity in support of, or as an endorsement of, a for-6 |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | eign terrorist organization. The Secretary of State shall 7 |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | revoke such visa if the Secretary determines that such par-8 |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | ticipation is established. In the case of a student whose 9 |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | visa is revoked under this section, the Secretary of Home-10 |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | land Security shall initiate removal proceedings with re-11 |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | spect to the student under the Immigration and Nation-12 |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | ality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq.). 13 |

| 49 | 49 | | (1) The term ‘‘foreign terrorist organization’’ 15 |

| 50 | 50 | | means an organization designated as a foreign ter-16 |

| 51 | 51 | | rorist organization pursuant to section 219 of the 17 |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1189). 18 |

| 53 | 53 | | (2) The term ‘‘institution of higher education’’ 19 |

| 54 | 54 | | means an approved institution of higher education 20 |
