3232 AND EDUCATION CAMPAIGNS. 7
3333 (a) I
3434 NGENERAL.—The Secretary of Health and 8
3535 Human Services, in consultation with the Secretary of De-9
3636 fense and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, shall conduct 10
3737 an interagency review to evaluate the status of, and iden-11
3838 tify opportunities for the acceleration of research related 12
3939 to— 13
4040 (1) research on lung cancer in women; 14
4141 (2) research on lung cancer in underserved pop-15
4242 ulations that meet the eligibility criteria for lung 16
4343 cancer screening as recommended by the United 17
4444 States Preventive Services Task Force; 18
4545 (3) access to lung cancer preventive services; 19
4646 and 20
4747 (4) strategic public awareness and education 21
4848 campaigns on lung cancer. 22

5050 ONTENT.—The review and recommendations 23
5151 under subsection (a) shall include— 24
5252 (1) a review and comprehensive report on the 25
5353 outcomes of previous research, the status of existing 26

5858 lung cancer in women and underserved populations 2
5959 in all agencies of the Federal Government; 3
6060 (2) opportunities for collaborative, interagency, 4
6161 multidisciplinary, and innovative research, that 5
6262 would— 6
6363 (A) encourage innovative approaches to 7
6464 eliminate knowledge gaps in research on lung 8
6565 cancer in women; 9
6666 (B) evaluate environmental and genomic 10
6767 factors that may be related to the etiology of 11
6868 lung cancer in women; and 12
6969 (C) foster advances in imaging technology 13
7070 and techniques to improve risk assessment, di-14
7171 agnosis, treatment, and the simultaneous utili-15
7272 zation of other preventive services and activi-16
7373 ties; 17
7474 (3) opportunities regarding the development of 18
7575 a national lung cancer screening strategy to expand 19
7676 access to such screenings, particularly among women 20
7777 and underserved populations; and 21
7878 (4) opportunities regarding the development of 22
7979 a national public education and awareness campaign 23

8989 EPORT.—Not later than two years after the date 5
9090 of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Health and 6
9191 Human Services shall submit to Congress a report on the 7
9292 review conducted under subsection (a). 8
